This dramatic scene is based on a photograph I took on an archeological trip into the rugged country south of Tombstone. Just below this site is the small cave where Chiricahua Apache chief Cochise and his wife camped. Cochise signed a peace accord with U.S. Army general Oliver Howard near this location.
